The Detachment Commander arrived at AAF Station #131 and was told by the sentry on the gate that the adjutant wished to speak to him immediately. A call from General Beamer. 1st Bomb Division HQ. had come through ordering the detachment to return immediately to Ridgewell to greet some visiting dignitaries!

The men were billeted in Site #6. but there were no quarters for the officers. They settled for half of Hut 23, using the other half as Orderly and Supply Room. Cleaning parties started work and there was a mad scramble for beds and biscuits, then once they were settled search parties went out looking for stove and life's necessities.

Meanwhile back at Ridgewell-
